Gommatex was set up in 1960, as a company by the collective name of “Lavorazione Tessuti Gommatex” owned by Mssrs. Giovannelli Lando and Cenni Piero; it was transformed into its present legal form in 1972. The company started by processing fabric lamination and gumming. Subsequently, it expanded its industrial activity to include the production of jersey and technical fabric for bags and footwear. In 1981, the industrial sectors were respectively broken up into Gommatex Spalmati SpA., Gommatex Jersey SpA. and Gommatex Poliuretani SpA. Consequently, the company now operates in the field of consulting and management of an administrative/ fiscal nature, and planning, control and data processing for companies in the commercial – computing textile division, as well as in the field of company acquisitions.
